Well,
I have been here a week, and it sure has been a busy week! Today is Friday. This was errands day. After doing our morning chores our first stop
was the bank. From there we headed to
the jeweler’s to pick up Jana’s watch.
She needed a new battery. While
there I had my ears pierced. I hadn’t
been wearing earrings for quite a while and the holes closed. Dumb me.
Next was Wassler’s Meat Market.
Then Kroger. After we got home
and brought the groceries upstairs, Jana and I both needed a nap. 😊
After
being revived we did some reading. I
also started my embroidery project.
Can’t say what it is since it is a Christmas gift. Penny likes when I embroider because she
likes to try and catch the thread. She
has finally made herself at home. When
we first arrived she stayed upstairs most of the time. Now she goes all over the house. She even found out how to get on top of the
television. We have to really watch her
because Jana’s television is not bolted to the stand. She gave us a real scare the other
morning. I have mentioned how she climbs
on everything. Well, Jana has a gas
stove, and while we were fixing breakfast the teapot was on getting the water
hot. We weren’t paying attention and she
jumped up on the stove. I don’t know who
was most scared; Jana, Penny or me. I
grabbed her and put her on the floor.
She walked off like she didn’t have a care in the world. Meanwhile Jana and I almost had a heart
attack. We stood there shaking. Now we guard the stove whenever anything is
being cooked, etc. I guard the
television.
Mattie
guards her toys. Every time Penny comes
downstairs Mattie grabs this one pink toy and runs away with it. We don’t know why that one toy since she has
so many others laying around. She also
guards her bed – Penny has never gotten into it, just smelled it. Penny does play in Mattie’ water. They are very entertaining. They chase each other everywhere.
Jana
and I decided that Saturday would be a day of rest. We have a busy week coming up next week so we
decided we needed to recharge. Of
course, the girls had other ideas. They
were crazier than normal. They chased
each other from one end of the house to the other, including up and down the
stairs. We can only hope that this means
they will sleep better tonight.
I
did some embroidery this afternoon. My
biggest problem was Penny jumping on my lap while embroidering. She never does this at home. There she just tries to play with the
thread. We watched some NASCAR. Went to Mass.
Then went to Skyline for supper.
After we got home we decided to sit outside for a while since it was so
nice.
Sunday
was another lazy day. We have to rest on
the weekends so we can get through our busy week. Monday we went to Barnes and Nobles to pick
up the books we ordered. Of course, we also bought a few new ones. Next was Frisch’s where we met with the
“camping” group. Everyone was there and
we had a great time. Tuesday Jana took
Mattie to the groomers for her bath and pedicure. While she was there we went to Shoe Carnival,
and did not find anything. So, we left
there and went to Kohl’s where we did find a few items. I bought two shirts and several pairs of new
earrings. Jana bought a new purse. All things we couldn’t do without. After picking up Mattie we went home. Didn’t do much the rest of the day.
Wednesday
we met our friend Ginger at Cheddar’s.
We had a really fun time. Ginger
went to school with Jana. She lived up
the street from where we lived when we were growing up. We have all kept in touch through email,
facebook and blogs. We had such a good
time that we set a date to get together again while I am here. We actually spent almost two hours in
Cheddars visiting. When we left there
Jana and I went to Half Price Books and turned in several bags and boxes of
books. We didn’t plan to buy any
books. We were just going to take our
money and leave. However, we made the
mistake of walking around to see what they had.
We both bought a couple of books that we knew we just couldn’t live
without. 😊 On the way home we stopped at Walgreen’s so I
could refill a prescription. We will
pick that up tomorrow. After that we
headed home and called it a day.

Aha! You did buy something at Half Price!! I know I couldn't just go in there and NOT buy something!
I really enjoyed our lunch together at Cheddar's...looking forward to next time.
